Lincoln Historic Preservation Ordinance

This is the latest version of the ordinance, as ratified by the Lincoln County Commission in October 2004. It does not include the Appendices, which we hope to supply later. Once you have accessed this pdf document, you will be able to print it out. You can also write to the Planning Clerk for a copy of the Ordinance (including appendices with illustrations), but this will cost you $10.00.

Application for Construction/Demolition/Alteration

Certain restrictions apply to building work in the Historic District. Please consult the ordinance to find out whether these conditions apply to your property or to work you propose to carry out.

This form must be filled in and submitted to the Planning Clerk at least two weeks prior to a regularly scheduled meeting of the Preservation Board, so that the matter can be placed on the agenda and so Board members can have adequate time to study your application and related documents prior to the meeting.

On the form you will see that supporting documents are necessary to go with your application. These may include elevations, site layouts, paint samples, and so on, depending on the nature of your proposed work. The application and documents should be sent to

Curt Temple, Planning Clerk
Lincoln County Courthouse
P.O. Box 711, Carrizozo, NM 88301.
